San Diego Beer Week Event Highlights
Worried you’re missing out on San Diego Beer Week? Don’t stress, there are still over 100 events left through Sunday! Most of these events are very affordable, yes there are some pricey events but those are for beer pairings with beer inspired dinners, other incredible events worth checking out if your funds allow you to.
San Diego Beer Week literally has an event for everyone 21 years and older. From events on a budget, pub crawls, bike rides, brunches, you name it, there are a variety of beer events in the morning that go throughout the entire day. So no excuses get out there and enjoy one of these events. If not to drink beer, to learn about the beer culture and the process of making a good beer!
I went ahead and checked out the list of beer events going on this week and picked out a few to help guide you. Remember you can find a full list of events at SDBW.org.
Wednesday, November 7th
It’s the middle of the week and you need a pick me up! Why not go on a beer tour and let all your worries disappear for a few hours… Join the Hillcrest beer Tour, 1 Night, 10 Bars! (You, might need to start ‘feeling’ sick Wednesday day, hint hint).
The beer tour is $5.00 from 4pm-7pm and starts at The Hillcrest Brewing Company, 1458 University Ave. Check in here to receive your wristband, a souvenir glass, and a map of the other locations. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet HBC’s very own brewmaster David White and sample his new Imperial Stout!
From here you will check out the following locations and taste the following beers!

Thursday, November 8th
Looking for an event to make a nice evening out of? Or to take your date on? Check out ‘Craft Beer Dinner at Grant Grill’, located at the US Grant in Downtown. The 5 course tasting dinner is from 5:30-10pm and costs $95.00++. Well worth it if your funds allow you to splurge a bit!
This meal includes 5 craft beers and 5 beer inspired dishes.
The local pours include:
Ballast Point Pale Ale, Green Flash Double Stout, North Coast Brewing Company’s Blue Star Wheat, and finally a dual-stop in Belgium with Douchesse De Bourgone Flemish Ale and Chimay White Triple Ale.

Have you been stuck in the office all week and need to get outside? We’ll I’ve got the event for you!
‘Brewtopia on the Bay, Ballast paired with food at the Dana Inn.’
This event is from 6:00pm-10:00pm and has a festival vibe! Tickets are $40.00 inclusive and include an all you can eat & drink tasting menu! Food items will be featured by 9 well known chefs from the area and beers will be provided by Ballast Point and 8 other local breweries!
Come out and relax while supporting your local breweries!
Saturday, November 10th
Are you more of the health conscious type and typically work out Saturday mornings? We’ll although your doctor may not recommend this event, I do… Bike 4 Beer!
Yes you heard me right, Bike 4 beer! Join the gang during San Diego Beer Week for a bike ride at 10am around North park and South park, where you will stop at 4 locations along the route. The group is meeting at the Carnegie Building located at 950 9th avenue, downtown San Diego. To join this group and its festive bike ride please RSVP to Christina@LWPgroup.com.
This event is FREE, you are just responsible for buying your own beers, BYOB!
Sunday, November 11th
Devastated the weekend is over? Yeah, so are we! Join us at the ‘End of SDBW Beer Brunch’ for a spectacular brunch with the beer flowing and the buffets inspired by beer!
This Beer Brunch is located at the Karl Strauss Brewery Gardens from 10am-2pm and costs $24.00. This is literally the brunch for beer lovers, farewell champagne, show us the beer!
