San Diego Beer Week 2012

SDBW 2012!

Right when you though there was nothing left to look forward to after The Great American Beer Festival, San Diego Beer Week approaches!

10 days of beer, 500 individual events, and local breweries showcasing their winning beers. That’s right; it’s the 4th Annual San Diego Beer Week, a week dedicated to showcasing San Diego’s craft beer! SDBW kicks off this Friday, November 2nd and runs through Sunday, November 11th.  Just to name a few, the festival starts Friday with events at Karl Strauss, Stone Brewing, Ballast Point, and many more. The official signature kickoff however, is Saturday, November 3rd at the San Diego Brewers Guild Festival. The general session for this festival is from 2-5pm, located at The Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier (right next to the cruise terminal).

The San Diego Brewers Guild Festival will feature over 100 beers from craft breweries, food from local brew pubs and allied guild member restaurants, as well as live music! Your entry also includes a commemorative tasting glass and 10 tasting tabs. Don’t worry if you can’t attend this event, there are many other events that will be going on throughout the county all week and if you’re not available until the end of the festivities you can always check out the official closing event at The Lodge at Torrey Pines. This event showcases the best of San Diego craft beer with food from well-established local chefs. Each admission includes unlimited tasters of beer and food. Something that makes this event more unique is each brewery will be paired with a local chef to create the perfect beer and food pairing!

For a list of the beer events check out www.SDBW.org for a complete listing of events, ticket information, transportation, etc. There’s a reason San Diego is at the top of the list for Craft Beer in the Country, so come out and join the festivities and see first-hand why San Diego is becoming known as a craft beer community!
