About Sandra Fong Young
Sandra Fong Young is a big fan of food and loves trying new types of foods and places. However, her favorite would have to be sitting at her parents’ kitchen table in Sacramento, lapping up her mom’s lasagna. Young has written about food, business and the business of food, among many other topics, for several local media outlets, including AOL’s La Jolla Patch, SanDiegoBargainMama.com, 944 and bizSanDiego. Young’s full-time job is at J. Walcher Communications where she oversees a number of hospitality, nonprofit, consumer product, association and sports clients. She has also worked at several of San Diego’s top public relations and marketing communications firms on a full-time and consultant basis – always eager to “test out” her food clients’ fare. (You can’t write about it, unless you’ve tried it, right?!) Young graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communication and a minor in literature/writing from UC San Diego and currently serves on the executive board for the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter.
